Are Baymingo experiences guided tours or cruises?

No. Baymingo does not offer guided tours or cruise experiences. All experiences are private boat rentals. While the captain may share local knowledge and tips during the trip, they do not act as a tour guide, and the experience is not a guided cruise.

Is the boat rental private or shared?

All Baymingo boat rentals are 100% private. The boat is reserved exclusively for you and your group.

What types of celebrations can be organized on a Baymingo boat rental?

Baymingo regularly organizes private celebrations and special moments on board, including birthdays, engagements, anniversaries, bachelorette and bachelor parties, and boat parties.

Are there any hidden fees with Baymingo boat rentals?

Guests pay online for the boat rental only. On the day of the rental, guests pay the USCG-licensed captain directly for their service, as required by U.S. bareboat charter regulations.
Gratuity (tips) for the captain is optional and entirely at the guest’s discretion.

How do I reserve a boat with Baymingo?

Boat rentals can be reserved directly online through the Baymingo website. You can secure your booking with a $1 deposit, making it easy to reserve your preferred date and time.

Is a captain required for the boat rental?

Yes. A USCG-licensed captain is mandatory for all Baymingo boat rentals to ensure safety and compliance with U.S. maritime regulations.

How is the captain paid?

The captain is paid separately and directly by the guest, as required by U.S. bareboat charter law. Baymingo does not collect or control captain compensation.

Does the captain act as a tour guide?

No. The captain’s role is to ensure the safe navigation of the vessel. They may share local insights and tips, but they are not acting as a tour guide.

Family, Kids & Safety

Are Baymingo boat rentals kid-friendly?

Yes. Baymingo offers family-friendly private boat rentals. Children of all ages are welcome, and life jackets are available for all passengers, including infants.

Do children count as passengers?

Yes. For safety and U.S. Coast Guard regulations, children and babies count as passengers when determining the boat’s maximum capacity.

Do children and babies get life jackets on board?

Yes. All passengers are provided with life jackets, including children and babies. Safety is our top priority at Baymingo.

For safety reasons, life jackets are mandatory for children and babies at all times while on board. All life jackets provided are USCG-approved and suitable for different ages and sizes.

Onboard Experience

Can we bring our own food and drinks on the boat?

Yes. Guests may bring their own food and drinks (BYOB). Alcohol is permitted for guests over 21 years old. No red wine

What is included in the boat rental?

The boat rental includes the use of the vessel, safety equipment, gas, a floating water mat, Bluetooth sound system, and a clean, well-maintained boat. Captain fees and gratuities are not included.

Can you rent a boat with no experience?

Yes, of course. No boating experience is required to rent a boat with Baymingo. A USCG-licensed captain is always on board and takes care of navigation and passenger safety throughout the rental.

Can I make special requests for my boat rental?

Yes. Baymingo regularly organizes special occasions and private celebrations, including birthdays, engagements, anniversaries, bachelorette and bachelor parties, and boat parties.

Can we go fishing during the boat rental?

No. Fishing is not permitted during Baymingo boat rentals.

Do I have to pay a security deposit?

No. A security deposit is not required.
All Baymingo boat rentals include a professional USCG-licensed captain who operates the vessel, which eliminates the need for a security deposit.

Are decorations allowed on board?

Decorations such as balloons, confetti, glitter, or loose decorative items are not allowed, to avoid safety and environmental concerns.

A small banner may be permitted, provided it is installed safely and removed at the end of the rental. Please discuss decoration requests with the Baymingo team in advance.

Fort Lauderdale is the main departure location for Baymingo Boat Rental and Tour.
Our boats depart from 1520 SE 15th Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316.

From this location, boat rentals typically explore scenic canals, Millionaire’s Row, downtown waterways, and calm areas suitable for swimming and relaxation, such as Fort Lauderdale sandbars and Whiskey Creek, depending on conditions.

Where do Baymingo boat rentals depart from in Hollywood, Florida?

Hollywood is Baymingo’s second departure location, conveniently located near the Margaritaville Resort.

Please note that an additional fee applies for pickup and drop-off in Hollywood, as the boats are based in Fort Lauderdale.
From this location, rentals often focus on peaceful waterways, nearby islands around Haulover, and family-friendly destinations such as Raccoon Island, Millionaire’s Island, and areas toward Miami, depending on weather and water conditions.

Is parking available at the departure locations?

  • Fort Lauderdale (main location): Free parking is available.

  • Hollywood (second location): Paid parking is available at approximately $4 per hour.

Can we swim during the boat rental?

Yes, weather and water conditions permitting. Swimming stops are often possible during the rental.

Duration & Booking

How long can I rent a boat?

Baymingo boat rentals are available for 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, or 8 hours, depending on availability and your preferences.

Our most popular rental durations are:

  • 2 hours – Sightseeing and relaxing cruise through Fort Lauderdale

  • 4 hours – Full Fort Lauderdale experience, including canals and scenic areas

  • 6 hours – Haulover Sandbar and Raccoon Island experience

  • 8 hours – Extended experience including Haulover and areas toward Miami

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking as soon as you know your preferred date, especially for weekends, holidays, and peak season, as availability fills up quickly.

Online booking is available with a $1 deposit, making it easy to secure your spot. If you need to adjust your date or departure time, the Baymingo team is always happy to assist whenever possible.

What are your operating hours?

Baymingo operates daily from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, or from sunrise until nightfall, depending on the season.

Tips & Gratuity

Are tips for the captain required?

No. Tips are not mandatory, but they are strongly recommended and greatly appreciated when you are satisfied with the experience.

How much should I tip the captain?

Tipping is not mandatory. However, in the boating industry, a gratuity of 15% to 20% of the boat rental price is commonly recommended when guests are satisfied with the experience. Tips are always optional.

Does Baymingo collect gratuity or tips for the captain?

No. Baymingo does not collect gratuity or tips on behalf of the captain. Any tip is given directly to the captain and is entirely at the guest’s discretion, based on their satisfaction with the service.

No. Baymingo does not rent jet skis. Our services focus solely on private boat rentals with a professional captain.

Can we use inflatable tubes or towable water toys?

No. For safety and insurance reasons, towing inflatable tubes or towable water toys is not permitted during Baymingo boat rentals.

Ocean & Navigation Areas

Do Baymingo boat rentals go into the ocean?

Ocean navigation depends on weather, sea conditions, and the captain’s professional judgment. Most Baymingo boat rentals take place in intracoastal waterways, canals, and protected areas, which provide a calmer and more comfortable experience.

Can we request to go into the ocean?

Requests to navigate into the ocean may be considered only when conditions are safe and at the discretion of the USCG-licensed captain. Safety always remains the top priority.

Pets & Animals on Board

Are pets allowed on the boat?

For safety and comfort reasons, pets are generally not allowed on board.
However, small service dogs weighing under 20 lbs are permitted, provided they are well-behaved, supervised at all times, and properly cared for during the trip.

Please note that some animals may become frightened on the water and could unintentionally damage the boat’s cushions or equipment. Guests are responsible for their service animal throughout the rental.
